The Perfect Mix

I just returned from a trip to Paris and Israel and am therefore writing this post at some strange hour in a state of complete jet lag. I love to travel for many reasons most importantly to be creatively inspired. (That and the blissful hours of quiet when I am up at some ungodly hour with jet lag!)

We are often drawn to certain styles of interiors based on where we grew up, where we live and where we have travelled. Growing up in Montreal,Quebec certainly influenced my love of all things French. Yearly visits to my brother and sister in law in London inspired my love of English country and the relaxed way the English mix chintz, prints and antiques. Spending a year in Australia and now currently living in Los Angles has given me an appreciation for a more casual, relaxed look.

I am therefore drawn to spaces that reflect an effortless mix of various styles. Here are two very different projects by two very different designers. The first one is the home of Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent who purchased a home in Hancock Park (my neighborhood!) that was just featured in Architectural Digest. The second is the Sydney home of Cameron Kimber who was just featured in House & Home.

Both homes are the perfect mix of everything I adore: brass, antiques, glam details, casual comfort etc.

( Images via Architectural Digest, Vogue Living and Habitually Chic, a blog that I read religiously !)

Here is the gorgeous home of Cameron Kimber:
