Favorite Fabrics...

November 22, 2017

It's no secret that I am madly in love with fabrics. My paternal grandfather Felix Brawer came from a large family  who owned  fabric companies/ mills in  New Jersey. After marrying my grandmother he moved to Holyoke, Massachusetts where he opened his own company. Amongst his clients were Schumacher and the United States Army for whom he manufactured camouflage during World War Two.

Needles to say fabric is in my blood and  I usually start a design scheme with the fabric choices as I feel they can really dictate the overall  aesthetic of a room.

I  thought I would share some of my all time favorite fabrics. These are classics which work time and time again in almost any space.

A client favorite is Tilton & Fenwick's gorgeous collection for Duralee. I have used numerous patterns from their collection,  most often their  striped Quintessence.

Here's a fabric that I can't wait to try in my dining room and living room! I love anything Miles Redd and  this fabric is perfect in that it is graphic and modern enough to work well with more classic patterns (such as my chintz sofa and chinoiserie wallpaper).

A pattern that I have never used but hope to incorporate into one of my future projects, Schumacher's Pyne Hollyhock.

I am thinking of this fabric for my kitchen curtains....Schumacher's citrus garden.

Another timeless classic... Clarence House's  Dahlia.

There are so many more fabrics that  I want to share with you so stay tuned for part two. In  the meantime here are some fab fashion finds inspired by these patterns. Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping!
